“Celebrate the industrious, resilient and diverse workforce the world over with the fun new @Work set of 12 different career-themed Android mini collectibles,” Dead Zebra’s @Work listing says (via 9to5Google). Each figure comes with matching accessories and clothes in line with the profession. The available professions include agriculture, barista, chef, contractor, coder, company executive, doctor, messenger, journalist, teacher, tech support, and restaurant waitstaff. Interestingly, the IT engineer figurine holds a 2017 Pixelbook while wearing a smartwatch. While the listing for the figure mentions accessories like “badge, Pixelbook & cable,” there’s no mention of the wearable. It’s hard to tell if this is a hint about the Pixel Watch’s existence, though we expect to learn more later.
Dead Zebra has listed the new @Work collection as “coming soon”
The list of characters is elaborate, covering almost every modern-day profession. Dead Zebra’s website says these 12 Android figures are “coming soon,” with no precise pricing info. Some of Dead Zebra’s newest offerings include the special edition Year Of The Tiger and Mailer Daemon figurines ($12), although the former is currently sold out. It has produced several exciting Android mini figurines over the past few years. The company is also known for making statuettes of Dino, the beloved offline mascot on Google Chrome. In 2016, Dead Zebra launched handmade wooden Android mini-figures, collaborating with renowned toymaker Ken Como. Going back a little further to 2014, the brand launched a 10-inch “Mega Edition” figurine. However, the smaller 3-inch figurines continue to be a fan favorite. Based on the pricing of existing Android minis, we expect the @Work collection to cost $12 per figure. The listing suggests that customers would be able to buy all 12 at once. This is similar to the “Android Activate!” collection which celebrates 12 different sports. Its options include baseball, football, soccer, boxing, golf, running, skateboarding, hockey, etc.
