The listing doesn’t reveal much about the device, except that it supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and will run Android 12 out of the box. To that end, it will also be available with dual-SIM support. But more importantly, this certification indicates that Samsung has two new budget Android smartphones in the works. Perhaps there are more, but the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s are nearing their launch.
The Galaxy A04 series may include a third model too
Samsung last year launched three Galaxy A03 models. The vanilla Galaxy A03 came first, followed by the Galaxy A03 Core. The Galaxy A03s was the last to arrive in the series. Judging by this, the Korean firm may have a Galaxy A04 Core too in the pipeline for 2022. While we haven’t heard about it yet, we now have enough evidence that the vanilla Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s aren’t too far away. The latter has been subject to many leaks in recent weeks and may arrive first. Based on the leaked info, the device will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 processor with 3GB of RAM. It is an 8nm octa-core chipset paired with the ARM Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. The screen is reportedly a 6.5-inch panel of HD+ (720p) resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It sports a V-shaped notch and sizeable bezels all around. Since it’s a budget phone, we are expecting the display to be an LCD panel. The Galaxy A04s is said to feature a triple camera setup on the back, with each lens protruding out of the rear panel individually. Samsung has been using this camera language in more low-cost phones lately. Unfortunately, the detailed camera specs are unknown yet. Renders have shown it to include a 3.5mm headphone jack, though. The traditional audio jack isn’t a thing of the past just yet, at least on budget smartphones. Reports suggest the Galaxy A04s is a JDM or joint development production method device. Samsung is reportedly working with Chinese companies to produce this phone for cost reduction. We may hear more about it, as well as the Galaxy A04, in the coming months as the company prepares for its launch.
