The Galaxy S22 Ultra name has more or less been confirmed
Ice Universe is usually spot on with his information, so… yeah, even though it’s not an official confirmation, this is basically it. This makes the rumors that suggested Samsung will opt for the ‘Galaxy Note 22 Ultra’ name inaccurate. As most of you know, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to sport a boxy design and a docked S Pen stylus. Following that information, several tipsters suggested Samsung will opt for a ‘Note’ rebranding as well. Well, that won’t happen. All three high-end Samsung handsets that are arriving in January will be Galaxy S-branded. We still don’t know if the ‘Plus’ model will retain its name, or will Samsung opt for the ‘Pro’ branding. Chances are it will be the Galaxy S22+, though. Based on leaked CAD renders, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ will look basically the same. They will be different in regards to size, of course, but the general design will be the same. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will differ, though, as already mentioned.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will look different than its siblings
The device is even tipped to have an entirely different rear camera housing and everything. Truth be said, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ probably look sleeker, so that’s an odd choice by Samsung. We’ll see what will happen. The device is said to ship with an S Pen stylus, and a dock for it as well, similar to the Galaxy Note 20. That handset is supposed to kind of replace the Galaxy Note device that did not launch this year. Both the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Z Fold 3 do support an S Pen, but they don’t include a dock for it, unless you get a case. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will bring that support to a whole new level, to a Note level. All three Galaxy S22 handsets are expected to launch in January.
