Google has just started rolling out the storage counter to Android and iOS platforms. However, it’s not yet widely available. After tapping on your profile avatar and in the account switcher section, a new indicator is added that shows the amount of remaining space. It’s just under the “Manage your Google Account” button.
Gmail on Android now has a “storage used” indicator
As you can see in the screenshots, the indicator shows the used percentage and your total amount of space. If you want to get a detailed report about the used space, tap on the indicator. Then, the “Manage your storage Google One” page appears. On this page, you can see your used storage at Google Photos, Gmail, Drive, and Other Google apps or services. To free up the space, tap on the “clean up space,” and to buy more storage, tap on the “Get storage.” Google might decide to bring this feature to other apps like Docs, Sheets, and Slides as it’s a handy indicator for informing users about their used space. Rolling out the storage indicator to Gmail has started today. But it might take some time to be available for all users around the world. You can now check the Play Store or App Store for availability. Speaking of Gmail, Google started to roll out the Material You redesign for the Gmail web version. The new design gives a modern look to the platform and brings some other helpful tweaks. Moreover, in recent months, Gmail has got a bunch of new features, including image alt-text and search filters for faster searching.
