Well, thankfully, the rumors about the price going up is untrue. Samsung is selling the Galaxy Z Fold 4 for $1,799. That’s the same price as the Galaxy Z Fold 3. At $1,799, it’s not a cheap phone, but we knew that. It’s also more expensive than most other phones on the market. But you have to keep in mind here that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is not just a smartphone. It also unfolds to give you a 7.6-inch tablet in your pocket. So you’re basically paying for a tablet and smartphone in one. And at this price, that’s a pretty good proposition. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 does come in three colors. That includes Phantom Black, Graygreen and Beige.
Impressive that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 stayed at the same price
Given everything going on in the world right now, it’s rather impressive that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 was able to stick to the same price as the Fold 3. With inflation being at its highest in 40 years, a global chip shortage that’s still going on, and the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 being the most expensive processor to date. Keeping the Galaxy Z Fold 4 at the same price is quite impressive. This could mean that Samsung is taking a smaller profit on each model sold. Or that other parts have gotten cheaper to get. Seeing as we are seeing a lot more manufacturers jumping in on foldable train these days. More smartphones going foldable, means that those parts are going to be mass produced a lot more, and cost a lot less. It’s also interesting that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 saw a growth of over 300% compared to the predecessors. Which shows that the world is ready for foldables to go mainstream now.
