Thankfully, HBO MAX does make it easy for everyone to cancel their subscription. So it’s just a few clicks away, and no need to call in for customer support like some services force you to do. Making it very millennial-friendly. Without further ado, here’s how you can cancel your HBO MAX subscription. Keep in mind that if you do get HBO MAX included with another service – like AT&T Internet, Cable or phone service – then you’ll need to jump through a few more hoops. Though, why would you want to cancel something that is free in that case.
How to Cancel HBO MAX
To cancel your HBO MAX subscription, you’ll first need to log into your HBO MAX account on the website. It can also be done on your mobile device, but it’s easier on desktop.
Select your profile. On your home page, now select your profile icon that is in the upper right corner. Next, scroll down and select Subscription.
Now, you’re going to want to click on “Manage Subscription” and then “Cancel Subscription”. As you can see below, my account is billed through AT&T, so I would need to login to AT&T to cancel.
Next, you’ll need to confirm your cancellation, and that’s it. That’s all there is to it. It’s just that easy, fortunately, as many other streaming services do make it more difficult to cancel. Your account won’t actually cancel until your bill date passes. HBO MAX does not do any prorating and giving back refunds. Basically, cancelling your account is turning off the auto-renew every month.
