What is ‘Battery Care’? Well, it’s basically a sub-menu that shows you how good are your charging habits, and it consists of a ton of options to improve them or keep them great. Options like ‘Steady charging’ and ‘Scheduled charging’ are immensely useful. Below, we’ll show you how to access these features, and we’ll talk a bit more about them. You’ll also see screenshots that will lead you every step of the way.
How to utilize the ‘Battery Care’ suite on the ASUS ZenFone 9
First, you’ll need to access your phone’s settings. There are several ways to do this, but we’ll go through the most obvious one. You’ll need to swipe up on the homescreen to access your app drawer. There, simply find the ‘Settings’ app/icon, and tap it.
In the settings, locate the ‘Battery’ menu, which is the one we need.
In that menu, scroll down until you stumble upon the ‘Battery care’ menu.
Now, this is where the fun begins. In this menu, you’ll see how good your charging habits are, and how good they’ve been in the past. Simply swipe left or right across the first graphic below the ‘Battery care’ line.
Right below that, you’ll see the ‘Recommended action’ section. There are two options there, ‘Steady charging’ and ‘Scheduled charging’. The first option allows you to charge the battery in a slow and steady pace. This won’t utilize the phone’s 30W fast charging.
If you combine ‘Steady charging’ with ‘Scheduled charging’, you’ll really be able to do wonders for the phone’s battery. This essentially allows you to schedule where your phone will charge. If you charge it during the night, it would be smart to utilize this option. Now, if you tap on the ‘Scheduled charging’ option, you’ll see some additional options. You can set the charging span manually, or allow the phone to figure out when to stop charging the device based on your alarm. It’s up to you.
There are also some options under the ‘Steady charging’ menu. You can even set the phone to ‘Ultra steady’ mode. Either way, you’ll be doing your battery a favor.
Now, if we get back to the main ‘Battery care’ menu, you’ll see the ‘Select charging limit’ section. There, you can change the charging limit between 80 and 100%. The best span to charge your battery is between 20-80%, which is ideal. Most people charge all the way to 100%. It’s up to you. Even if you leave it at 100%, that won’t be much of a problem if you utilize other options we’ve discussed.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 actually has great battery life (at least at the time of writing this article), so chances are you won’t charge it in the middle of the day. So, utilizing the scheduled charging option, in addition to some other options we’ve discussed, may be a great idea, if you charge your phone during the night. ASUS really did a good job providing its users with such features.
