The Nothing OS 1.1.4 update improves the color accuracy of the ultrawide lens on the Nothing Phone (1). The company claims you’ll get the same image quality with both rear cameras, enabling a consistent and seamless image experience. Nothing has also reduced the shooting lag when using HDR in ultrawide mode. The shot should be captured in less time. A new motion-detection algorithm will ensure less blur and better stability when shooting moving objects. Night mode also gets color calibration for more accurate results. Your night pictures should look less bland. Optimizations for the selfie camera portrait mode will let you capture sharper and brighter selfie portraits. The Nothing Phone (1) also recently picked up algorithmic improvements to skin tones for more natural skin tones when capturing selfies. Elsewhere, Nothing has added a new auto-adjust brightness feature for always-on display (AOD). It prevents overheating of the phone when AOD is enabled. The company also optimized AOD power consumption, which may add a little to the phone’s battery life. Support for the industry-leading LHDC audio codec is another new feature for the Nothing Phone (1). Last but not least, the Nothing Phone (1) is getting the September security patch with the latest update. This month’s security release patches over 20 Android OS vulnerabilities, with the majority of them being high-risk issues. Nothing may have patched some vulnerabilities in its system too. Perhaps the company mentions a few bug fixes on the changelog. Depending on the region and network carrier, users are getting fixes for network, fingerprint, and incoming call issues.
