Galaxy A33 5G renders show a familiar design
Samsung’s mid-range smartphones have seen little design evolution in recent years. Perhaps it launches too many devices in this segment to make each device look different from the other. And it isn’t necessarily bad either, since the Korean brand has always opted for a neat and simplistic design language. The Galaxy A33 5G sports this familiar design as well. At the front, we have a U-shaped notch and a thick chin. The display is said to be a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution (2400×1080 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device also gets an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. Turn over to the back and you’ll notice the Galaxy A33 5G doesn’t look too different from the Galaxy A53 5G. Both devices get four cameras housed in a raised island. The positioning of the four sensors and the LED flash unit is too similar to tell them apart. The camera sensors inside the phones are a little different though. The Galaxy A33 5G gets a 48-megapixel primary shooter with OIS (optical image stabilization), an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, we have a 13-megapixel camera sitting under the U-shaped notch at the front. Under the hood, we have Samsung’s Exynos 1280 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone may also come in other memory configurations though. Other rumored specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, NFC, and Android 12-based One UI 4.1. software. Note that Samsung will not supply a charger in the box.
Rumored price and availability
Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the Galaxy A33 5G yet. But the company is widely expected to announce it at the scheduled Galaxy A event later this week. And while it’s not a very long wait now before we know everything for sure, the latest leak suggests the phone will retail for €379 in Europe. Stay tuned for confirmation on that. Meanwhile, you can check out the device in black, blue, peach, and white colors below.
