My Lists is a new tab that sits next to My Movies up top. It offers two options: automatically generated lists and user-created lists. The former is of more interest here. As you might have guessed, this machine learning-powered feature will automatically generate lists of movies based on different factors. It could be all Marvel movies in one list or a list of all classics. These AI-generated lists could literally have thousands of categories based on factors like a franchise, genre, actors, themes, user interests, and whatnot. The lists will be updated over time as you add new movies to your Movies Anywhere library or watch more movies. With each new movie you add or watch, the app will learn more about your interests and update these lists accordingly. Users can edit these lists to add or remove a movie, sort the movies in their preferred order, or rename the list. But, according to an Engadget report, you can’t modify lists on the smart TV version of the Movies Anywhere app. Thankfully, the lists automatically sync across your devices. So if you edit them on your phone or tablet, the changes will reflect on smart TV as well.
My Lists is now rolling out to Movies Anywhere users
The Movies Anywhere app is of great use to people who purchase digital movies quite frequently. It houses movies purchased on any platform in one single place. So whether you buy a digital copy of a movie from YouTube, iTunes, or Prime Video, you’ll find them all within Movies Anywhere. Without this app, users would require to jump from one platform to another to see if they’ve purchased a title. Now, with the addition of the “My Lists” feature, the app is making it simple for users to manage their digital movie collection. Earlier, the app kept all your purchased movies in one single list. You could sort the list in order of purchase or alphabetically. But if your collection is huge, this could mean endless scrolling to find that one movie. Granted, you could search for a movie by its name. But if you’re looking for a certain type of movie and you don’t remember its name, it could be a tedious task to find it. Not anymore though. You can simply create multiple lists to keep certain movie types in one place. The new feature should now be rolling out to Movies Anywhere users widely.
