Earlier this month, the Android 11-based update got rolled out to the device, with OxygenOS 11. That update only reached those of you who still didn’t get Android 12 on the phone, even though Android 12 started rolling out a while back.

That Android 11-based update did contain the June 2022 security patch, leaving the Android 12 version without it. Now, a new update is here, and it still doesn’t deliver the latest security patch. Needless to say, this is quite weird. In any case, this new update is actually an OxygenOS 12.1 update, and it contains fixes and optimizations. It is marked as OxygenOS C.05, for those of you who are keeping track. This update fixes the issue of abnormal pop-ups in certain scenarios after tapping the power off key. It also fixes the issue of abnormal interface which is caused by clicking the update notice of Bitmoji stickers. Another fix on the list takes care of the issue with game icons, as they were displayed in an odd way after being removed from Game Space. The last fix on the list takes care of “abnormal crash”, whatever OnePlus means by that.

This update also optimizes the power consumption of the camera, by the way. The update itself weighs 359MB, and it’s rolling out OTA (Over-The-Air) as we speak. Do note that it’s rolling out in stages, so you may not get it straight away. Also, its rollout starts in India, so users in other regions may have to wait a bit longer to get it. Let’s hope that the next Android 12 update for the phone will deliver a new security patch.
