We’ll start things off by listing their specifications, and will then move to compare them across a number of different sections. We’ll take a look at their designs, displays, performance, battery life, camera performance, and audio aspects. We’re hoping this comparison will help you make a purchasing decision. Having said that, let’s compare the Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro.

Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Design
If you look at these two phones from the front, they are quite similar. That quickly changes when you flip them around, though. The two companies opted for considerably different designs. The Motorola Edge+ has three vertically-aligned cameras on the back, inside a rather regular-looking camera island. Motorola brandings are found in two different places, and the back is curved towards the sides. The Pixel 6 Pro includes a camera visor on the back, and is rather easy to recognize because of it. Its cameras are horizontally aligned, and this visor makes sure the phone doesn’t wobble when you put it on a table. The device is curved on the back as well, but not as much as the Motorola Edge+. Both devices do offer a glass back, but a different frame. The Motorola Edge+ has a plastic frame, while the Pixel 6 Pro offers a frame made out of metal. The Gorilla Glass 5 is used on the back of the Motorola Edge+, while the Pixel 6 Pro utilizes Gorilla Glass Victus on the back. Both phones offer curved displays with thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. They do feel different in the hand, and the Pixel 6 Pro is a bit heavier. They’re almost equal when it comes to height, width, and even thickness. Both phones are quite slippery, though, so keep that in mind. The Motorola Edge+ is water-repellent, while the Pixel 6 Pro has a proper IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Display
The Motorola Edge+ features a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display. This panel is curved, and it can project up to 1 billion colors. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate, and it has support for HDR10+ content. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here, with a 393 ppi. The Gorilla Glass 3 is placed on top of it, to protect it, by the way. That is an odd call by Motorola, as Gorilla Glass 3 is quite dated and prone to microscratches.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.71-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED display. This panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and that refresh rate is adaptive. HDR10+ content is supported, and the display is curved. This display has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 512 ppi. Google is using Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus to protect this display, more modern display protection. On paper, the Pixel 6 Pro display looks better. Is that the case in real-life? Well, yes. The Pixel 6 Pro’s display is sharper, and better, but the Motorola Edge+ also has a great display. If the difference in resolution doesn’t bother you all that much, it is bright enough, and very smooth. They both offer great viewing angles, and great colors. The blacks are also very deep on both panels. If you’re not used to QHD+ displays, you won’t exactly be disappointed with the Motorola Edge+ panel.
Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Performance
On paper, these two phones are immensely powerful. The Motorola Edge+ is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It also includes 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The Google Pixel 6 Pro comes with the Google Tensor SoC, along with 12GB of LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 flash storage. On top of that, both phones ship with Android 12 out of the box, though Motorola has a somewhat different skin on top of it. Hardware-wise, they have everything they need to offer stellar performance in this day and age. So, they do offer great specs, what are they like when it comes to actual performance? Well, they’re great, to say the least. When it comes to regular, everyday performance, they both shine. They fly through everything you throw at them, ranging from browsing the web and multitasking, to media consumption and listening to audio. Even when it comes to gaming, these two phones are really difficult to slow down. We did experience some issues with Genshin Impact on the Motorola Edge+, but those stutters were very rare, and it’s possibly the game’s fault. In every other way, both phones really did deliver in the performance department, and they never got too hot to handle.
Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Battery
The Motorola Edge+ packs in a 4,800mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 Pro includes a 5,003mAh battery. Do they offer good battery life, though? Well, in our experience, yes, excellent even. Both phones managed to last us until the end of the day, regardless of our usage. Even with some gaming, and plenty of pictures thrown into the mix, they managed to last. Do note that both gaming and heavy camera usage will drain the battery a lot faster, though. So, even if you’re a heavy user, there’s nothing to worry about here, at least that was the case during our usage. As far as charging is concerned, well, the Motorola Edge+ is faster. The phone does offer 68W fast wired charging, but do note you’ll be getting a 30W charger in the box. In other words, you’ll have to buy the 68W charger separately in order to take advantage of its full charging speed. The device also offers 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. The Pixel 6 Pro comes without a charger, actually, so you’ll have to buy it separately. That being said, the phone does offer 23W wired charging, though it slows down after 50%. It will take you almost two hours to fully charge it (via a cable). It also supports 23W wireless charging, but you’ll need the Pixel Stand in order to take advantage of that speed. Reverse wireless charging is supported here as well.
Motorola Edge+ vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Cameras
Both of these phones have three cameras on the back, though fairly different setups. The Motorola Edge+ comes with a 50-megapixel main camera, backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth unit. The Google Pixel 6 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto unit, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. The sensors are also different, as are the lenses.
What about the image quality, though? Well, the Pixel 6 Pro has a considerable advantage in this department. The Motorola Edge+ had some camera focusing issues during our testing, even with tap-to-focus. The details were lacking, even in good lighting, while the Pixel 6 Pro also seems to be superior in low light. That’s where the Motorola Edge+ really doesn’t do a great job, as it loses a lot of details. It’s also more noisy. The Pixel 6 Pro is regarded as one of the best camera smartphones on the market, and that is true. It provides excellent images, with great dynamic range, and colors. They have that Pixel look that people seem to enjoy, and the camera also does a great job with skin tones. It also shines in low light, as it manages to allow a lot of light into every shot, and manages to retain a lot of details, despite allowing a bit of noise in such images.
Audio
If you’re used to using an audio jack on your phones, well, that’s not something you can do here. Neither of the two phones includes a headphone jack. You’ll have to use the Type-C port, or opt for a wireless connection. They both support Bluetooth 5.2, by the way. What the two phones do include, though, are stereo speakers. The sound they provide is different, though. The Motorola Edge+ speakers offer really good bass, but they do lack clarity sometimes. The Pixel 6 Pro speakers seem to be better optimized in that regard. Both sets of speakers are more than loud enough.
