The rumor was passed along by a Galaxy user on Samsung’s official community forums in South Korea. The forum post doesn’t reveal much else about the new fitness tracker. One user suggests the company could charge around KRW 49,000 – 50,000 for the wearable in its homeland. That’s the same price tag (KRW 49,500) the Galaxy Fit 2 debuted with a couple of years back. So the Galaxy Fit 3 should cost the same $60 in the US too (€50 in Europe) when it arrives later this year. However, the source notes that Samsung may push back the launch to next year if things don’t go according to plan. The mobile industry has had to deal with multiple uncertainties lately, so you never know. If the rumors are true, we should be hearing more about the Galaxy Fit 3 in the coming months. But until then, we advise you to take this information with a grain of salt. Perhaps the Galaxy Fit 3 rumors may start coming in after Samsung is done and dusted with its next Unpacked event. The big launch event in August should see the company launch the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5 series, and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
Samsung may finally launch a Galaxy Fit 2 successor
Samsung has been making fitness trackers for years but unlike most other Galaxy products, the company usually doesn’t follow a yearly launch schedule for the low-cost wearables. As said earlier, almost two years have passed since the Galaxy Fit 2 arrived and there’s no sign of a new model coming anytime soon. It’s not like we desperately need an upgraded Fit device, though. There are plenty of capable options in this segment. After all, there’s not much these wearable devices do. The Galaxy Fit 2 features a touchscreen display and comes with an accelerometer, gyro, heart rate monitor, and sleep tracking. It also boasts basic watch features and lets you remotely control your smartphone camera. But a lot of other options in this segment do that. Nonetheless, Samsung seemingly doesn’t want to completely exit the fitness tracker market. The latest rumor suggests it still has plans to launch a new Galaxy Fit model. We will let you know if we hear something more credible about the Galaxy Fit 3.
