Additionally, a couple of Object Eraser sub-components, i.e., Shadow Eraser and Reflection Eraser, are picking up new updates too. The new version number for these two Photo Editor features is also 1.1.00.3. Samsung has likely optimized these features for more effective editing. Its Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for Galaxy devices already improves the built-in Photo Editor. These separate updates for its components should now make it even better.

Samsung updated the built-in Photo Editor on Galaxy devices

Embedded in the Gallery app, Samsung’s Photo Editor lets you fine-tune your photos by applying various effects. With its Object Eraser tool, you can quickly remove unwanted objects, photo bombers, and other disturbances from photos. The company introduced this AI-powered feature to Galaxy devices in January last year with the launch of the Galaxy S21 series. It is pretty effective in its job, almost comparable to the popular professional photo editing software Photoshop. Over the past couple of years, Samsung has gradually improved the Object Eraser, and the built-in Photo Editor as a whole, with updates. The latest round of updates should bring more accurate results. The company has likely further optimized the software. If you’re using a Galaxy smartphone, your device should automatically install these updates for Photo Editor, Object Eraser, Shadow Eraser, and Reflection Eraser over the next few days. As mentioned earlier, Samsung’s Android 13 update also improves its Photo Editor. If your Galaxy smartphone hasn’t picked up the new Android version yet, it shouldn’t be too far off either. The company plans to update all eligible Galaxy models to Android 13 before the end of this year. It is on track to roll out the update for multiple new devices almost every day. As always, you can check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install. If you don’t see any pending updates, check again a few days later. You may also get a notification once the update reaches your phone.
